This beautiful necklace was carved from a pig tusk by a member of the Liversidge family. Geoff Liversidge and his sons are renowned for their artwork. They are considered by some to be the most skilled family of carvers working in New Guinea today. They use traditional forms yet add their own style to each piece. Hard to get collector quality pieces. This striking necklace has a crocodile with added mother of pearl decorations. The tiny human figure is well carved of ebony. The tusk is 5.5 inches across.
